About

Ruth's Creole Kitchen is Oklahoma City's most authentic New Orleans-inspired restaurant, opened by Chef Reuben Carey, a born-and-raised New Orleans native who named the restaurant in loving tribute to his mother Ruth Carey, who passed away in 2024 and was beloved for her weekly Sunday dinners and warm hospitality in the Upper Ninth Ward. Located on NW 23rd Street, the restaurant transports guests straight to the French Quarter through an inviting space adorned with a wall dedicated to Ruth herself, and a menu packed with classic Creole dishes including gumbo, jambalaya, shrimp and crawfish étouffée, red beans and rice, lobster macaroni and cheese, crab cakes, crab bisque, and a full lineup of po'boys and the signature Rajun Cajun sandwich. Weekend brunch is equally celebrated featuring banana foster pancakes, peaches and cream waffles, and the Mardi Gras omelet stuffed with shrimp, crawfish, vegetables, and mixed cheese. With live music events featuring jazz, soul, and Creole music regularly on the calendar, Ruth's is quickly becoming one of OKC's most beloved culinary and cultural destinations.
