Magic City Books is Tulsa's only nonprofit independent bookstore, established in 2017 and owned and operated by the Tulsa Literary Coalition, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit dedicated to bringing the community together through the love of reading. Located in the historic Archer Building in the heart of the Tulsa Arts District, the store specializes in literary and popular fiction, narrative nonfiction, and thoughtfully curated selections for children and teens, with all proceeds going directly back to fund community literary programs. Beyond bookselling, Magic City is a true cultural hub hosting hundreds of author events, book clubs, and literary festivals each year including the beloved Tulsa LitFest, and is also the home of Booksmart Tulsa, the city's longest-running author reading series. The store gained national exposure when it was featured in the FX series The Lowdown, and with over 30,000 Instagram followers and a thriving Round Table membership program, Magic City Books has cemented itself as one of Oklahoma's most cherished literary institutions.
