On December 15, 1972, June and Willie Ortiz, two Santa Feans with no restaurant experience but an abundance of passion, opened the original La Tertulia in a former Dominican convent in Santa Fe, New Mexico. What began as a heartfelt belief in sharing their love of Native New Mexican food grew into a beloved family institution spanning generations. Over the years, their daughter, son-in-law, and grandchildren all joined the business, including Kevin Nashan, who would go on to become a James Beard Award-winning chef. Today, Kevin carries that family legacy forward with a reimagining of La Tertulia right here in Tulsa's Blue Dome District. Serving authentically modern Santa Fe cuisine, the restaurant brings the bold, earthy flavors of northern New Mexico to Oklahoma, with housemade blue corn tortillas, carne adovada, hand-crafted margaritas, and an extensive mezcal collection, all in a warm space that feels like a little piece of the high desert brought to life.
