Gathering Place

Gathering Place is a world-class 66.5-acre riverfront park along the Arkansas River in Tulsa, Oklahoma, open to all completely free of charge. Created by the George Kaiser Family Foundation and designed by landscape architect Michael Van Valkenburgh, the park opened on September 8, 2018, and quickly earned recognition as USA Today's Best City Park of 2024 and one of National Geographic's Top 100 Unexpected Travel Destinations. With an adventure playground, BMX pump track, boathouse, gardens, sports courts, walking trails, live music on the QuikTrip Great Lawn, rotating art exhibits, restaurants, and year-round community programming, Gathering Place has become the beating heart of Tulsa, where every generation, every background, and every walk of life comes together to explore, learn, and play. At $465 million, it stands as the largest private gift to a community park in United States history.
