At Fixins Soul Kitchen, we believe food is more than a meal it's memory, culture, and connection.
Born from the vision of NBA legend and former Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson and his wife Michelle, Fixins was built on something deeply personal: the soulful home cooking that brought Black families together for generations. From Grandma Gladys' famous peach cobbler to the friendly competitions over collard greens and potato salad those recipes and those moments are at the heart of everything we serve.
Kevin spent 12 years traveling the NBA, eating in 28 cities, always searching for that taste of home. What he found along the way inspired a dream: to take the best traditions of African American cuisine and elevate them with impeccable service, a vibrant atmosphere, and a space where everyone belongs.
The result is Fixins Soul Kitchen a full-service soul food experience rooted in Black Excellence. Here in Tulsa's historic Greenwood District (Black Wall Street), every plate we serve is a tribute to the resilience, culture, and legacy of this community.
