In a world full of trendy restaurants and fast food chains, Brownie's Hamburger Stand has been doing one thing since 1956 — making great food, the right way, every single day.

Founded by brothers Bill and Daryl Bowen, Brownie's started as a simple neighborhood burger stand and grew into one of Tulsa's most beloved institutions. Nearly 70 years later, nothing much has changed. And that is exactly the point.

Walk through the door and the 1950s come alive. Retro booths, counter seating, the smell of sizzling patties on the grill, and friendly faces who treat every customer like a regular. The menu is a love letter to old fashioned American diner cooking — fresh hand-crafted burgers, golden onion rings, crispy tater tots, fried okra, hand-dipped milkshakes, and homemade pies baked right in house.

But the one thing people drive across town for? The homemade root beer. Served ice cold in a frosted mug, it is fizzy, creamy, and unlike anything you can find anywhere else in Oklahoma.

Brownie's is not trying to be the newest thing in Tulsa. It is proud to be the most timeless. Three generations of families have pulled up to this counter, and three generations have left full, happy, and already planning their next visit.
